Task distribution:

  • Company A gives only a small Area of Responsibility to the F/O in the receiving aircraft flow.
  • Company B provides a balanced task distribution between Captain and F/O.
  • Company C delegates the entire overhead panel to the F/O.

Areas of responsibility

1. Overhead panel

Depending on the Airline FCOM you want to simulate the task distribution between Captain and F/O will be different.

Make sure you agree on what Company procedure you want to follow (A, B or C).

2. Aft overhead panel

Task distribution:

  • Company A & C let the crew decide if either the Captain or the F/O sets up the aft overhead panel while the other crew-member does the walk-around.
  • Company B  assigns the responsibility for overhead panel to the F/O. The Captain does the walk-around.

3. CDU

Task distribution:

  • Company A&B: both pilots make CDU entries and are responsible for verification.
  • Company C: the Captain or F/O may make CDU entries. The other pilot must verify the entries.
